The DC Bike Ride’s new Start Line is powered by Amtrak and located at the intersection of Constitution Ave NW & 12th Street NW.

Drop-off Zone: When navigating to the Start Line, please reference the map on this page to view the location of the “drop-off zone” – on Pennsylvania Ave NW. Important: Roads directly surrounding the Start Line, including Independence, will close at 6:30 AM, so plan accordingly.

The entry points to the Start Line corrals can be accessed on 7th, 9th, and 10th Street NW via Pennsylvania Ave NW. We recommend arriving at the Start Line area before 6:30 AM, but please plan to get to access points no later than 7:30 AM. Riders are expected to be in their respective corral by 7:45 AM.

Our Info & Solutions Tent will be located at the intersection of Constitution Ave NW and 9th St. NW to assist riders on the morning of the ride.

Conte’s Bike Shop will be onsite with a team of mechanics to help with small last-minute adjustments at the corner of 9th St. and 10th St. NW. Riders can refill their water bottles on 7th St. NW, and portable restrooms will be available on 9th St. and 10th St. NW.

VIP and Advanced riders can enter the Start Line corrals via 10th Street NW, while Intermediate riders should access the corrals via 9th Street NW, and Beginners can access the corrals via 7th Street NW.

Transportation to DC Bike Ride

The following directions will get you to the vicinity near the Start and Finish Lines. Please note that on the day of the event, streets directly surrounding the Start and Finish lines will be closed for the event.

  • Heading to the Start Line? Use the intersection of Constitution Ave NW & 12th Street NW. as your destination.
  • Heading to the Finish Line? The Finish Festival address is: 500 Pennsylvania Avenue NW, Washington, DC 20565

  • Follow I-395 N to 2nd St NW in Washington. Take exit 9 from I-395 N.
    • Head east on I-395 N
    • Keep right to stay on I-395 N, follow signs for Capitol Hill/Nationals Pk/Verizon Ctr
    • Use the right lane to turn slightly right to stay on I-395 N (signs for Interstate 395 N/D St N.W./US Senate/C St S.W./US Capitol/The House)
    • Keep right to stay on I-395 N
    •  Take exit 9 toward 2nd St NW
    • Use the right lane to take the D St NW ramp
  • Take E St NW to 10th St NW
    • Continue onto 2nd St NW
    • Turn left onto E St NW
    • Turn left onto 10th St NW
    • Destination will be on the left
  • Head southeast on I-66 E **Toll Road
  • Use the right 2 lanes to take the US-50 E exit toward Constitution Ave/Downtown
  • Continue onto US-50 E/Constitution Ave. NW
  • Use the 2nd from the left lane to turn left onto 15th St NW
  • Turn right onto Pennsylvania Avenue NW
  • Take State Hwy 295 and I-695 W to D St NW. Take exit 9 from 1-395 N
    • Head southwest on State Hwy 295
    • Use the right 2 lanes to take exit 1B-C for 1-695 toward Downtown
    • Continue onto 1-695 W
    • Take the exit onto 1-395 N
    • Take exit 9 toward D St NW
    • Use the left lane to take the D St NW ramp
  • Take E St NW to 10th St NW
    • 4 Turn left onto D St NW
    • Turn right onto 3rd St NW
    • Turn left at the 1st cross street onto E St NW
    • Turn left onto 10th St NW

Metro does not begin running until 7 AM, so please plan accordingly as all riders need to be in their respective corrals by 7:45 AM. Visit wmata.com for Metro’s bike policies and schedule. The closest Metro stations to the start line are between 0.1 and 0.4 miles away.

  • Federal Triangle – Orange/Blue/Silver lines – 0.1 miles from start area
  • Smithsonian – Orange/ Blue/Silver lines – 0.1 miles from start area
  • Archives-Navy Memorial – Green/Yellow lines – 0.4 miles from start area
  • Metro Center – Red and Orange/Blue/Silver lines – 0.4 miles from start area

We encourage you to get a few extra miles in and bike to the start! Make sure you plan out your route in advance and give yourself plenty of time the morning-of so you arrive in the start corrals before 7:45am. Google Maps has a great biking directions tool!
