Packet Pickup Party

Thank you to the Southwest Business Improvement District for hosting the 2018 Packet Pickup Party events!

The Packet Pickup Party will take place at Market SW in partnership with the Southwest Business Improvement District. All participants must get their packets PRIOR to Saturday, May 19, the day of the event, so you’re invited to come celebrate life on two wheels with us at the Packet Pickup Party!

You must pickup your Rider Identification Kit (RIK) at the Packet Pickup Party. There will not be packet pickup available the morning of the event.

Packet Pickup Party Details:

When: Thursday, May 17 from 3pm to 7pm; Friday, May 18 from 11am to 7pm

Where: 401 M St SW, Washington, DC

Packet Pickup Party Details:

When: Thursday, May 17 from 3pm to 7pm; Friday, May 18 from 11am to 7pm

Where: 401 M St SW, Washington, DC

Getting There: Located on top of the Waterfront Metro Station, we encourage attendees to walk, metro (it’s the Green Line) or bike. There is extremely limited street and garage parking available that is pay to park, so again, we recommend biking or metro.

Party With Us: MarketSW will take place alongside our party on Friday offering food, adult beverages, live music and local vendors.

Rider Identification Kit: Your packet includes your Rider Identification Kit (RIK) and your water bottle. The RIK consists of a paper bib number you must pin to the front of your shirt, a helmet sticker you must stick to the front of your helmet, and a bicycle top tube sticker you must place on your bike for the day of the event. All participants must have their RIK in place in order to enter the start corrals at the event.

Below is an example of what the Rider Identification Kit will look like:

All riders (standard registration, youth registration and VIP registration, as well as standard or youth with packet mailing) receive a limited edition  2018 DC Bike Ride water bottle. Stop by the Packet Pickup Party to get your Rider Identification Kit and your water bottle.

Having your packet mailed? Registrants who purchased packet mailing have or will receive their rider identification kit in the mail, and can pick up their rider water bottle at the Info/Solutions tent at the Finish Festival.

CAN’T ATTEND PACKET PICKUP?: If you’re not able to attend the Packet Pickup Party, then you must assign a proxy to get your packet for you at packet pickup. There will *NOT* be packet pickup the morning of the event. We previously offered packet mailing through registration, but that option is no longer available as of May 2 at 12PM ET due to the proximity to the event day.

Assign a Proxy:

You may send a proxy to pick up your packet (can be another rider or a non-rider). Your proxy can only get your packet if they have a printed copy of your signed 2018 participant waiver (CLICK HERE TO PRINT WAIVER) plus a photo copy of your photo ID. We cannot give your proxy your packet without both the photo ID and the signed waiver. The proxy must also have a signed waiver and ID for EACH of the riders’ packets they are picking up.

Here’s what your proxy needs:

A proxy does not need an ID for a Youth Rider or Ride-Along, but all participants under 18 years of age need to have a waiver signed by their parent or guardian.
