Your ride matters!
DC Bike Ride is proud to support our local community by contributing a portion of ride proceeds to local initiatives that support our mission to make cycling safer, more fun, and inclusive.
Our COMMITMENT
IN ACTION
Graduation on Wheels is our flagship program that directly impacts children in underserved DMV communities. We’re thrilled to share that at our 2nd annual event on June 13, 2025, we partnered with CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield to give bikes to over 200 students!

See Bike Giveaway In Action
For the past two years, we’ve gathered at Kenilworth Parkside in June to celebrate over 200 students annually from seven DCPS schools. Each graduating student receives their very own bike, helmet, and lock upon completing the Health and Physical Education’s (HPE) Biking in the Park program. Established in 2015, this program teaches every second-grader how to ride a bike as part of their curriculum. To make their new bikes even more exciting, DC Bike Ride has also provided Ride Passes to all recipients, their families, and teachers, inviting them to join us at the DC Bike Ride to take their new wheels for a spin!

Sponsor a Rider
DC Bike Ride strives to be inclusive and, with your support, along with the DC Department of Parks and Recreation and #FitDC, our scholarship program sponsors participants who would otherwise not be able to join the ride.

Pedal For a Purpose
Since 2020, Pedal For A Purpose has invited riders to share their bike rides to support food insecurity initiatives serving DC’s marginalized communities. Nearly 80,000 bike rides have been logged in over the past four years by an amazing cycling community committed to building opportunity.
Pedal For A Purpose is made possible by CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield, which has contributed over $100,000 to the program.
