DCBR 2017 will be held on Sunday, May 14, 2017 at 8 A.M. EDT.

Children must be 3 years or older to participate in DCBR. Children in the age group of 3-7 are FREE and must ride on a child bike seat, tagalong bike, tandem bike, in a bike trailer or in a bike cargo. Youth riders in the age group of 8-13 must be accompanied by an adult at a 1:1 ratio. DCBR does not require a 1:1 ratio for youth riders in the age group of 3-7. Yes! DCBR tickets are transferable, but NOT refundable. If you would like to transfer, please follow the instructions here. Please note, there is a $10 transfer fee imposed on the new rider.

In general, DCBR registrations are NOT refundable. They are transferable for a $10 transfer fee. See the above questions for more details. If you have a health related issue or a life threatening reason for cancellation, please contact us at hello@dcbikeride.com.

Yes! Here’s how you do it. There is a $10 change fee. If you upgrade, you will be asked to pay the remaining balance. If you downgrade, you will still be subject to the $10 change fee, but you will not be refunded.

No bike, no problem! DCBR will partner with Bike and Roll again to arrange for bike rental pick-up at the start of the ride and drop-off at the finish line festival. There will be a limited quantity of rental bikes, please stay tuned for updates! And, be sure to reserve your bikes as soon as registration becomes available.

All DCBR participants, regardless of age, must wear a helmet at all times on the course.

No, you may not wear earbuds or any other form of headphones.

No, you may not ride an electric bike.

This is a rain or shine event. Check the weather and dress appropriately.

While DCBR provides snack and water at the rest areas, don’t forget to bring bottles of water, some snacks, sunscreen, and a spare tube in case you get a flat. You will want to pump your tires full of air the day before. Also, you will want your camera, fully charged cell phone, and cash for food and merchandise at the Finish Festival.

Make a plan in advance with your friends/family in case you get split up. Rest areas are a good place to meet up with friends/family.

No, you cannot bring a pet on your bike. However, pets are welcome at the Finish Festival.

The event will offer official DCBR gear, and other branded items will be available for purchase at dcbrshop.com, at packet pick-up, as well as the Finish Festival. DCBR Merchandise will also be available for purchase through the website and through registration.

Absolutely! International riders are welcomed to ride the event but are required to show a valid passport.

DCBR is a self-seeded event. There’s no need to register as a team or group to ensure that you get to ride together. However, if you have a large group (8 or more) we can offer special group pricing and assist with bulk registration, please contact us at hello@dcbikeride.com.

Register for the VIP package and you’ll be guaranteed to be in the first corral! You’ll also receive an official DCBR stretch half zip, wicking pullover and lunch after the ride in our VIP Hospitality Area.

All riders must begin DCBR at the official start line.

Participants are responsible for their own belongings during the event. DCBR will have a lost and found area within the Finish Festival area.

The ride starts promptly at 8am, and all riders should be on their way by 9am. With the pace set at 18mph, you should plan on finishing within 1 – 2 hours. Then stick around for an awesome Finish Festival until 1pm!

Packet Pickup Questions

No, all participants must pick up their Rider Identification Kit at Packet Pickup. If you cannot attend Packet Pickup to pickup your rider packet, you may designate a proxy to pick it up for you. Click here for our proxy policy.

Packet Pickup will be at the Wunder Garten at 1101 First Street NE, Washington DC 20002 on Friday May 12 from 3pm-7pm and Saturday May 13 from 10am-5pm.

Residents of the United States and Puerto Rico must show state or federal government-issued photo ID, such as a driver’s license, DMV photo ID, or passport. Non-US residents, including Canadian residents, are required to show a valid passport.

Volunteers

Absolutely! We have many fun positions available at the Friday and Saturday Packet Pick up, as well as at the Sunday Ride at the Start, Finish and out on the course! All volunteers receive a Ride Crew t-shirt, snacks and drinks, and community service hours. We’ve also got opportunities for nonprofit groups to earn a donation when they bring out a group to help.
